Around the world, in how many days?!

So it's probably fair to say that flight simmers are coping with the "social distancing" due to COVID-19 fairly well, as shown by the record breaking numbers on platforms such as #VATSIM.

Given all this time staying at home, more and more simmers are taking to the virtual skies, which is awesome to see and a lot of fun for both virtual ATC & pilots alike as we enjoy more interaction and (hopefully) more authenticity around airports and in the sky.

So given the current 'stay-at-home' measures that are in place, I decided to have a mini-adventure myself and have endeavoured to traverse the world!

My plan of action is to make lots of smaller legs, vs. two or three larger hops to enjoy as much of the landscape and get exposure to more airports in more places, so to that end I'm using a regional jet, the airframe of choice? The CRJ 700 with the company colours: the Canadian Xpress livery. I have the ORBX Global Base pack along with the Global Vector pack and North American openLC.

Beginning in Toronto, Canada (CYYZ) and heading eastward, I'll be using Simbrief for flight planning along with Navigraph charts. General rules that I'll be adhering to, flights will have to be within the CRJ700's range, along with sporting a safe runway length for the conditions of the leg and flights ideally need to be 2 hours or less just due to my available time.

As speed or distance is not a factor in how quickly this is accomplished, I'll be taking a 'scenic' route. I'll provide a short recap of each leg and a bit of information on each airport and area, so hopefully we'll learn somethings along the way!

Ready? Set. Go!
