LEG 19. For this leg we left VOHY heading north up the east coast of India to Bhubaneswar. This was an evening flight with moderate rain, we climbed above the cloud cover to FL230 and shot the ILS approach into RWY14. The airport is named after Biju Patnaik who was a politician, aviator and a businessman... quite the repertoire! The approach was difficult with icing conditions and poor visibility, but we made it in after a go-around which given the unfamiliar area and conditions, I was ok with.

LEG 20. For leg 20, we flew from VEBS across the Bay of Bengal to Yangon, Myanmar (VYYY). This was another evening flight, longer given the 655NM distance, which took close to two hours in total. We took the ceiling to FL250 for this leg and enjoyed a beautiful sunset as we headed east away from the setting sun. VYYY is the largest airport in Myanmar, serving roughly 30 international airlines which are primarily from South-East and Far East Asia. The single runway was more than accommodating for our little Dash 8 with over 11,000 feet of runway.

With a couple more legs to go til our halfway point, we'll be heading south toward Australia over the next few legs, and then back up north to pass through Japan.
