So for this leg we bid goodbye to the enigmatic Greenland and look east once more to Iceland. I can say when planning this leg I was looking forward to checking Iceland out having installed the ORBX Iceland demo! And I can say I was not disappointed, but more on that in a bit.

This leg was going to take us approximately 1.5 hours, flying at FL290 we encountered intense winds which hampered our progress. The CRJ700 seemed to struggle with the fuel allotted by Simbrief and I couldn't tell if this was due to the heavy winds that it was contending with or if it was an issue with the plane itself.
That said, we flew into Keflavik Airport (BIKF) via RW01 via the ILS approach safely. Keflavik is the largest airport in Iceland being the main point for international flights, if you're looking to visit Iceland, chances are this is where you'll be flying to. It's got a great view of the Atlantic which stretches out to the horizon (see below pic courtesy of Wiki). BIKF is home to Icelandair which is the largest carrier in the country and also plays host to a number of smaller charters. Up until 2019, passenger numbers had been up year over year, so BIKF unlike our last airport, is going to be around for some time.
The Iceland ORBX scenery is awesome, I didn't compare it to the stock sim scenery, but I can safely say if you have any interest in flying out here in GA, I'd strongly recommend the scenery as it brings out the diverse landscape that makes for some beautiful views. I took a quick jaunt out in Carenado's PC12 to scope out the land, and it was thoroughly enjoyable!
Our next hop sees us head to Europe as we look to Scotland!
